Save the date for the Pedal-Paddle-Run

The Absecon Education Foundation will present the 14th annual Pedal-Paddle-Run race on Saturday, Sept. 27 with a rain date of the following day.

Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. at Heritage Park where the race begins at 8 a.m. Advance registration can be made by Sept. 13 and guarantees a race t-shirt. Register online at active.com, abseconschools.org  or in person at the Home Town Variety Store, 150 New Jersey Ave. Call  609-641-5375, ext. 1017 for information.

Democrats announce monthly meeting schedule

The Pleasantville Regular Democrats organization has announced its monthly meeting schedule through the rest of the year. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in the Pleasantville Public Library, 33 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. The group will meet on the following days:   Sept. 25, Oct. 23, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. Pleasantville Library hosts a CPR class Pleasantville Library hosts a CPR class Atlantic County Library System/Pleasantville offers Learn CPR at your Library at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15.

The free program for ages 13 and older. Registration requested. Certified CPR instructor and Pleasantville Fire Fighter Neal Loch leads the class in the live-saving skill of CPR.

Atlantic County Library System/Pleasantville is located at 33 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and may be reached at 609-641-1778.

Eight Sundays of music, fun in Absecon

ABSECON - City officials have announced the city’s 2014 Concerts in the Park schedule which begins later this month and runs through mid-August.

Weekly concerts begin at 7 p.m. Sundays starting June 22 and lasting until Sunday, Aug. 10. All concerts are free and take place in Heritage Park along Ambassador Drive in Absecon.  Food is available at the park’s concession stand and residents are reminded to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.
