Absecon’s National Night out

ABSECON - City officials and members of the Pleasantville police and fire departments along with members of Absecon Emergency Services are calling for city residents to join them for a night of fun, fellowship and good times during the annual National Night Out celebration.

The event will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at the Pitney Road soccer field.

ABSECON - The Absecon Education Foundation will present the 14th annual Pedal-Paddle-Run race on Saturday, Sept. 27 with a rain date of the following day.

The fun doesn’t stop during the summer at the Absecon Library. Here are the summer programs for children to be held at 10 a.m. on the following Wednesdays: Chad Juros, magician, Aug. 6; Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels, Aug. 13; Snakes and Scales, Aug. 20 and Joe Holiday’s “Reading Books” Magic Show, Aug. 27.  Call 609-646-2228 for information.

   

Eight Sundays of music, fun in Absecon

ABSECON - City officials have announced the city’s 2014 Concerts in the Park schedule which begins later this month and runs through mid-August.

Weekly concerts begin at 7 p.m. Sundays starting June 22 and lasting until Sunday, Aug. 10. All concerts are free and take place in Heritage Park along Ambassador Drive in Absecon.  Food is available at the park’s concession stand and residents are reminded to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.

Liberatore Jr.  The staff and residents at Mainland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasantville donned on their sharpest attire on Friday, March 21 during the annual Fashion Show held in the center’s community room.

The youngsters enjoyed hearing a good story read by the high school students and every body learned the importance of being able to read.
