Motel raid leads to drug arrest

ABSECON – A three-week investigation that ended in a Galloway motel resulted in the arrest of an Egg Harbor City man charged as a drug distributor.

Absecon Police arrested Keith I. Campbell, 45, Thursday, May 3 and charged him with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

With a search warrant, Absecon Police were assisted by Galloway and Egg Harbor City police and Atlantic County SWAT in a raid at the Passport Inn on the White Horse Pike.

A large quantity of heroin and cocaine was located in the room along with a small amount of marijuana and a knife, police said.

Also in the room was Diana Diaz, 24 of Egg Harbor City.

Campbell was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Galloway Judge Howard Freed set $100,000 full cash bail. Campbell was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility in Mays Landing.

Diaz was held on an outstanding warrant from Galloway and turned over to Galloway police.

The case was investigated by Detective Leigh Gadd.
