Motor vehicle accident results in narcotics arrest

ABSECON _ Aaron Wilcox’s problems only started when he crashed his SUV on Pitney Road in the early morning hours on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Wilcox, no age reported, of Brigantine, was involved in a one-car accident at 3:16 a.m. on the 600 block of Pitney Road, according to Absecon police.

The accident occurred as Wilcox drove his Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound and ran off the road, police said. He struck a tree and came to rest in a nearby lawn.

Wilcox was uninjured and his Grand Cherokee was towed from the scene.

However, when police responded, they discovered several illegal items in Wilcox’s truck.

As a result, Wilcox was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of weapons, narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Wilcox was jailed in the Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility in Hamilton Township and his bail was set at $120,000.
