HAMILTON TOWNSHIP _ Police charged men from Pleasantville and Hamilton Township in connection with the July death of an Atlantic City man, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain said Nov. 26.

Kahlil S. Blackwell, 20, of Corwen Court in Hamilton Township and Demarice G. Bennett, 25, of Adams Avenue, Pleasantville face murder and conspiracy charges in the death of Sedrick Lindo, 25, of Massachusetts Avenue.

Lindo was shot multiple times July 29 while sitting on a porch at the Carver Hall Apartments on the 500 block of South Carolina Avenue in Atlantic City.

Two other individuals were also previously charged with Lindo’s murder in addition to Blackwell and Bennett.

Police had charged Joshua M. Cross, 25, of Cardigan Court, Hamilton Township with murder and conspiracy on Aug. 28 in connection with Lindo's murder.  At the time, Cross was already lodged in Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility in Hamilton Township on unrelated charges.

On Oct. 4, a 16-year-old Atlantic City boy, wanted for Lindo’s homicide, turned

himself in to the Atlantic City Police Department. He was processed and lodged at Harborfields Juvenile Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City.

Currently, both Blackwell and Bennett are incarcerated on unrelated charges, police said.

Superior Court Judge Bernard E. DeLury set bail for the murder and conspiracy charges at $500,000 cash for both Blackwell and Bennett.

First appearances for the defendants have yet to be scheduled and will be announced in the near future.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department are conducting Lindo's homicide investigation.
