The National Weather Service’s Mount Holly forecast center has issued a high wind watch for Wednesday evening into Thursday morning from Cape May to Sandy Hook.

The Weather Service is predicting wind gusts of up to 60 mph or more, especially around midnight as a strong cold front approaches from the west.

South Jersey residents should expect strong, sustained winds of about 40 mph, the Weather Service said. As a result, residents should be prepared for downed trees and branches.

Power outages are likely.
