Atlantic City man faces vehicular homicide charges in Absecon crash

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic City man was indicted by a county grand jury Wednesday, Feb. 6 in connection with a 2011 fatal motor vehicle crash in Absecon.

Sundeep Sekhon, 35, was charged with vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding, careless driving, failure to maintain his lane and improper display of plates, according to acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain.

Police allege that Sekhon was driving his Audi R8 performance sports car at a high rate of speed eastbound on Route 30 in Absecon when he lost control and struck a utility pole at about 10 a.m. June 4, 2011.

The impact killed his passenger, his cousin Amarider Sandhu of Roanoke, Va.

Sekhon, who is a dentist, sustained no serious injuries.

Police arrested Sekhon Oct. 28, 2011. He remains free pending trial on $150,000 cash bail and the surrender of his passport, set by Superior Court Judge Kyran Connor.
