Flooding caused by today’s nor’easter has forced officials to close portions of the White Horse Pike in Absecon as of 3:45 p.m. Also closed are portions of Shore Road and Ohio Avenue.
The Black Horse Pike was still open as of 4:15 p.m. but was reduced to one lane in each direction between Pleasantville and Atlantic City.
Motorists are advised to use the Atlantic City Expressway as an alternative route.
Motorists should expect the same roadways to be closed again around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7 at the time of the next high tide.
National Weather Service forecasters predict the March 7 tide could be a half a foot higher than this afternoon’s high tide.
