ABSECON - The three teenagers who went missing from the Atlantic County Juvenile Shelter in Northfield were located in Absecon and taken in to custody by city police officers early Sunday, Oct. 20.
The three teens went missing late Saturday evening and were spotted at 7:02 a.m. walking in the roadway near South Shore Road and the White Horse Pike, according to a statement made by the Absecon Police Department.
Two female teens were taken into custosdy, police said.
However, a male teenager sprinted away and led police on a foot chase headed to the east along Route 30 and into an East Illinois Avenue neighborhood. Absecon patrol units apprehended him a short time later.
The girls were transported back to the shelter.
The male was sent to the Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center in Egg Harbor City, police said.
