Atlantic Cape Community College has teamed up with Art Handler’s Appliance and Mattress Center to create a holiday cooking scholarship fundraiser.
A live Thanksgiving demonstration will provide helpful tips on how to prepare a holiday meal and also raise money for scholarships for future Academy of Culinary Arts students.
A team of Atlantic Cape Community College Academy of Culinary Arts culinary experts will present the two-hour “Thanksgiving Live!” presentation 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7 at Art Handler’s Appliance and Mattress Center, 10 Black Horse Pike, Pleasantville.
The cooking demonstration will teach participants how to prepare a three-course Thanksgiving meal, featuring autumnal appetizers, an entrée and a dessert.
The appetizers are corn cakes with turkey confit and cranberry marmalade, stuffed mushroom with root vegetable duxelle.
The entrée to be prepared is turkey breast roulade, bread stuffing and gravy.
The dessert is roasted pumpkin cheesecake.
Participants will be able to sample the dishes and learn how to pair them with complementary wines.
Tickets are $19.95 each. See www.Want2Register.com for tickets.
Thanksgiving Live! is sponsored by The Press of Atlantic City. Proceeds support scholarships to be awarded to future students at the Academy of Culinary Arts.
For more than 30 years, the Academy of Culinary Arts has trained future chefs.
