The members of the Galloway, Absecon, Port Republic and Brigantine Green Teams will hold a regional “Bag It” day on Saturday, April 12.

Green Teem volunteers will distribute free reusable bags to shoppers at the entrance to major stores in the area.

Bt switching to reusable bags, consumers can reduce litter, save marine animals who are killed when the ingest plastic bags, lower business costs, send less trash to landfills and reduce the use of oil that produces the places to create bags.

South Jersey Gas, Atlantic City Electric, Royal Suites and Merrill Lynch are donating reusable bags for the event.

If a business would like to donate bags or participate in the “Bag It” event, call Mary Crawford at 609-742-7076.
