Police arrest 2, seize cash, drugs

PLEASANTVILLE — Police arrested a man and a woman from Pleasantville and seized large amounts of cash, drugs and a luxury SUV while executing a search warrant Thursday, March 27.

Police arrested Wallace Knowles, 32, and Ilove McKenzie, 38, both of 150 Wellington Ave., according to acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain.

Each was charged with distribution of more than one-half ounce of cocaine, possession of more than one-half ounce of cocaine, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a crime, and distribution of cocaine within 500 feet of the Pleasantville Community Center, 400 W. Brighton Ave.

Police seized 90 grams of cocaine, a loaded 9 mm handgun, more than $45,000 in cash and a 2008 Lincoln Navigator SUV.

Knowles and McKenzie were arrested after a monthlong investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit.

Both were lodged in the Atlantic County jail; Knowles on $150,000 cash bail and McKenzie on $50,000 bail, cash or bond.
