Discover ‘ologies’ at the Pleasantville Library

PLEASANTVILLE _ Everybody will be ogling about the DiscoverOlogy Club on Thursdays this summer at the Pleasantville Library.

DiscoverOlogy will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursdays from June 26 through Aug. 28 at the Library, 33 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

The programs are suggested for ages 6-12 and registration is required for any session. The sessions make up the Summer Reading Program at the library.

During the ten-week DiscoverOlogy season, participants will discover different types of ologies which include biology, paleontology, meteorology, geology,  zoology, and moreoglogy.

DiscoverOlogists also experiment with exciting authors and titles in order to prove the hypothesis that there is a book for everyone.

Special guests are announced each week and include Lady Hawke Storyteller Laura Kaighn on July 3, paleontologist Dr. Matt Bonnan of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey on July 17, representatives from the Marine Mammal Stranding Center on July 24 and Aug.  21 and The Butterfly Guy entomologist Jerry Schneider on Aug. 7.

The final event is the end-of-summer-reading bookology party on Aug. 28.
