PLEASANTVILLE - Overnight traffic on one of four roadways into Atlantic City will be slowed by a closure/detour pattern to allow for utility work through the rest of the summer tourist season, according to an Atlantic County spokeswoman.

A section of Delilah Road between Main Street and Route 9 in Pleasantville will be closed and a detour will be in place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays to allow for New Jersey American Water Company utility work, according to Linda Gilmore, a spokesperson for Atlantic County.

Both lanes will reopen to traffic each morning and will remain opened until 9 p.m.

The work should take about 6 weeks to complete, Gilmore said.

Local residents will have access to their properties. No work will occur on weekends. Police will assist motorists.

Drivers should follow the posted detour and allow for additional travel time.
