Intruders assault, threaten to shoot Absecon residents

According to the Absecon Police Department, two males forced their way into the apartment after a resident answered the doorbell by opening the door.

Po0lice said a heavyset African-American male who was wearing a tan shirt assaulted a male resident of the apartment, while a second male entered the unit. The second male, also African-American, was younger, had a thin build and was wearing an orange shirt.

The second male assaulted a woman who was coming down the stairs as they broke in, police said.

The younger male threatened to shoot both residents if they called the police.

The two intruders fled the apartment without taking anything and without showing a weapon, police said.

A Pleasantville K-9 unit was unable to track them down.

Police closed off the apartment complex and checked the identification of anyone trying to drive away.
