Tuesday’s primary election features a number of regional races.

In the U.S. Senate race, the seat is currently held by Cory Booker. While he faces no opposition from other Democrats, four Republicans are sparring for a chance to unseat him. In the U.S. House of Representatives race, Mike Assad of Atlantic City is challenging longtime incumbent Frank A. LoBiondo of Ventnor for the Republican nod.

Democrat David H. Cole of Sewell is going up against William J. Hughes Jr. of Northfield to be the Democrat contender in the fall.

The Atlantic County freeholder at large race, four Republicans are seeking two spots on the November ballot. They are Alex Marino of Linwood, John W. Risley of Egg Harbor Township, Victoria “Vikki” DeFilippo of Brigantine and Barbara A. Brown of Absecon.

Democrats Barbara Rheault of Mullica Township and Steven Stokes of Galloway are unopposed.

The District 3 Freeholder race has both Democrats and Republicans unopposed with John Carman of Egg Harbor Township running for the Republicans and Kewy Santana for the Democrats.

Incumbent Republican Sheriff Frank X. Balles and Democrat challenger Dennis Munoz of Egg Harbor City are also unopposed.
