HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – Atlantic County Sheriff Frank X. Balles was sworn in as president of the Sheriff’s Association of New Jersey Friday, Jan. 27.
County Undersheriff Ted Kammer was also sworn in as the association’s secretary at a dinner held at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
Congressman Frank LoBiondo administered the oath of office for both men.
“We are thrilled to have Atlantic County represented on the board,” Balles said. “I promised last year to bring this event to Atlantic City, and I am very proud to show the sheriffs from throughout the state what this city has to offer.”
It is the mission of the Sheriffs’ Association of New Jersey to promote, protect, preserve, and enhance the office of sheriff in a collective and cooperative manner and support sheriffs in their responsibilities to citizens as the chief elected law enforcement officer in the county.
Also taking the oath of office were 1st Vice President Sheriff Charles M. Mille of Salem County, 2nd Vice President Sheriff John A. Kemler of Mercer County and Treasurer Sheriff Charles H. Billingham of Camden County.
