Pleasantville's Isaac Clark wins 800-meter gold at Meet of Champions

Pleasantville High School senior Isaac Clark won the state indoor individual championship in the 800-meter run at the Meet of Champions Saturday, Feb. 23, clocking in with a meet-record time of one minute, 51.72 seconds.

Isaac’s brother, Jacob Clark of Pleasantville, was third in the 800 with a time of 1:52.15.4, and Oakcrest High School’s Ishmael Muhammad was fourth at 1:53.68.

Oakcrest runner Chase Toliver was second in the 55-meter hurdles at 7:54.3.

Egg Harbor Township senior Kofi Yamoah placed second in the shot put with a throw of 57 feet, six and three-quarter inches. Teammate James Plummer was third in the shot put at 57-4 ½.

EHT’s Curtis Fitzpatrick, who won the 55-meter dash at the state Group IV championships last weekend, placed fifth at the Meet of Champions Saturday with a time of 6.58.

Daniel Jefferson of Oakcrest placed fourth in the high jump at 6-4.

The top six finishers in each event in each of the state group championships qualified for the Meet of Champions, which was held at the Bennett Indoor Athletic Complex in Toms River.

In the girls Meet of Champions, held Friday at the Bennett Center, EHT’s Lola Agabalogun was fourth in the shot put at 39-10 1/4.
