Atlantic City's McHenry wins state diving title

Atlantic City High School diver Logan McHenry won the State Individual Boys Diving Championship on Thursday, Feb. 28, at the College of New Jersey.

McHenry, a 17-year-old junior from Ventnor, scored a career-high 513.60 points for 11 dives, beating out 15 other divers from throughout the state.

McHenry’s point total was 74 points ahead of second-place Ethan O’Neill, the defending champion from Cherry Hill East. Egg Harbor Township’s Ben Balesteri was fourth with 381.50 points.

McHenry has had an outstanding junior season for Atlantic City, winning the South Jersey Coaches’ Division A Boys 6-Dive Meet, and his second straight Cape-Atlantic League individual diving title.

Absegami’s Austin Goodwin placed 11th at the state meet with a 252.30 point total, and EHT’s Grayson Frantz was 14th at 238.15.
