Egg Harbor Township Eagles prep for new season

EHTscrimmage1 Bill LeConey/EHT coach Tony DeRosa talks to his squad before Wednesday's scrimmage against Delsea. The Egg Harbor Township High School football team continued its preparations for the upcoming football season with a scrimmage against Delsea Regional on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The Eagles are a young team trying to rebound from a 4-6 season in 2012. They open at home against Oakcrest on Sept. 13.

Coach Tony DeRosa said senior Adam Bynum and junior Kyle Houhgton are competing for the starting quarterback job.

Running backs Dante Moore and Randy Canela should get the bulk of the carries in the running game.

Following their scrimmage against South Jersey Group III champion Delsea, the Eagles face another good preseason test against Group V champion Williamstown at home on Saturday, Aug. 31 (noon).
