Rudisill wins Scholar-Athlete Award

Absegami High School senior Roman Rudisill received the Scholar-Athlete Award from the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

The award is given for a combination of football excellence, very high academic achievement and community service.

Rudisill was a three-year starter on the offensive line at Absegami, earning all-Cape Atlantic League and all-South Jersey in his senior year as the Braves rushed for over 2,000 yards and averaged 25 points per game.

He is ranked 20th in his senior class of 409 and his waiting to complete his Eagle Scout Board of Review this spring.

Rudisill recently completed his wrestling career at Absegami with a 45-19 career record. He was a two-time All-Cape Atlantic League wrestler and won the Art Marinelli Tournament and the Gateway Gator Tournament his senior year, and was a District 32 medalist and Region 8 qualifier as a junior.

Rudisill will continue his football and academic career at Middlebury College in Vermont where he will major in economics.
