allstarcheer2 Submitted/All Star One’s Senior Level 5 Big Bang Team proudly display their Worlds Bid banner after their performance at the Cheersport competition in Atlanta. The Senior Level 5 Team (Big Bang) of All Star One Cheerleading Academy, based in Egg Harbor Township, recently competed in the Annual Cheersport Competition in Atlanta and earned a bid to compete in the USASF Worlds Championship.

Cheersport, the largest cheerleading competition in the world with over 35,000 participants from 1,200 teams, will be held April 26-28 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

“It was no easy task getting to Atlanta this year,” said All Star One owner and coach Karen Brenner in a press release. “Nearly every Thursday flight was cancelled due to the snow, and our parents were in a panic trying to secure other means of transportation. The team bus was already at capacity and not competing was not an option. Our girls work all year to participate in events like Cheersport. With a bid to Worlds at stake, we were determined to get there.”

All 90 girls scheduled to compete from AS1 made it to Atlanta safely, and their determination paid off. The Senior Level 3 team (Skylights) placed 6th out of 14 teams in their division. The Junior Level 5 team (Little Bang) had a flawless Day 2 routine and moved from 7th place to second, missing first by a mere six-tenths of a point. But the highlight of the weekend was the Worlds bid for their sister team, Big Bang.

Big Bang twin sisters Bella and Cetta Esposito couldn’t mask their excitement. When asked what they are going to do now, they replied in unison: “We’re going to Disney World!”
