New Stockton lacrosse team has Absegami flavor

carpenter Richard Stockton College/Stockon’s Jenny Carpenter controls the ball in an early-season game against Notre Dame A handful of Absegami High School graduates have helped the brand new Richard Stockton College women's lacrosse team get off to a solid 4-1 start in its first season of intercollegiate play.

Absegami product Jenny Carpenter has played a key role for the Ospreys. Carpenter, a senior attacker from Egg Harbor City, had a goal and two assists in the Ospreys' 17-3 win over Maritime College on Wednesday, March 13.

Stockton’s 18-5 win over Bryn Athyn on Saturday, March 15, was highlighted by the first career goals of Kate Bennett (Egg Harbor City/Absegami) and Lindsay Roof (Galloway/Absegami).

Goalkeeper Mary Stornes (Galloway/Absegami) started the game for Stockton, playing the first half and making one save in earning the victory.

Stockton will play again on Thursday, March 20, at Bard for a 7 p.m. matchup.
