Prep hosts Invitational Regatta Saturday at Lake Lenape

lakelenape Lake Lenape St. Augustine Prep School will be welcoming crew teams from several Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey schools to its 11th annual Lake Lenape Invitational Regatta on Saturday, April 19.

Crew teams from LaSalle College High School, Chaminade, Monsignor Bonner, Fordham Prep and Roman Catholic will attend the biggest regatta the Prep has ever hosted.

Racing will begin at Lake Lenape Park in Mays Landing at 11 a.m. and the awards ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. Food and drinks will be served and the event is open to the public.

Seven of the nine athletes on this year’s St. Augustine Prep varsity eight are from Atlantic County, including Matt Oakley from Egg Harbor Township, Shane Dickson from Margate, Matthew Mohnack from Brigantine, Kieron Hughes from Absecon, Eric Jones from Galloway, bow Andrew Skalitzky from Galloway, and coxswain Bill Reeves from Margate.

Other local Prep crew members include coxswain Edward Worton of Northfield, coxswain Andrew Parra of Margate, and rower Tom Puhalski of Port Republic.
