jerseygenesis jerseygenesis Registration is open for the 19th Annual Jersey Genesis Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquabike and Bambino Biathlon, scheduled for Saturday, May 31, in Port Republic.

Race organizers have added a duathlon to this year’s event to give the non-swimmers an opportunity to compete in the race.

The triathlon portion of the event will consist of a half-mile swim, 16-mile bike and four mile run.  Duathletes will have the option of running two miles rather than swimming the half-mile at the start of the race. The Aquabike participants will complete a half-mile swim and a 16-mile bike course.

The Bambino Biathlon for kids’ ages 5 to 12 sells out every year and early registration is recommended. The kids run a quarter mile – bike 2 miles and run another quarter mile. There are no race day sign-ups for the Bambino Biathlon.

Tilton Fitness will again co-sponsor the event, offering triathlon and duathlon training at their facility. The staff will be at the race site race morning with spin bikes for warm up and a personal fitness trainer to lead a post race stretching class.

Tilton will also be providing one day passes for all registered adult athletes to visit the club pre and post race for access to the sauna, hot tub and juice bar. For more information call 609-652-7744 or visit www.tiltonfitness.com.

Cape Bank is again sponsoring the High School Challenge Relay in which high school athletes can enter as a team consisting of one runner, one swimmer and one biker and compete with other high school teams to win the Challenge Cup in the team division.
