CAL basketball playoff schedule is set

The Cape-Atlantic League has announced the respective eight-team fields for the league’s boys and girls basketball playoff tournaments, which are scheduled to begin Friday.
On the boys side, American Conference champion Atlantic City has earned the top seed and will host No. 8 Egg Harbor Township. National Conference co-camp Middle Township is seeded second and will host No. 7 Sacred Heart, the United Conference co-champion. St. Augustine Prep, which tied Middle for the National Conference crown, is seeded third and will host No. 6 Hammonton. United Conference co-champion Wildwood Catholic is the fourth seed and will host No. 5 Holy Spirit.
Winners from Friday’s boys quarterfinal games will compete in semifinal matchups Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Hammonton High School. Semifinal winners will play for the title Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Richard Stockton College.
On the girls side, National Conference champion Ocean City has earned the No. 1 seed and will host eighth-seeded Lower Cape May. United Conference champion Cedar Creek is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 St. Joseph. American Conference champion Holy Spirit is seeded third and will host No. 6 Millville. And No. 4 Middle Township will play at home against No. 5 Sacred Heart.
Winners from Friday’s girls quarterfinal games will play in semifinal matchups on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at St. Augustine Prep. The semifinal winners will play for the title Saturday, Feb. 23 at noon at Richard Stockton College.
