CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Middle Township High School boys basketball team put a subpar performance in its state tournament opener behind them in a big way.

Two days after struggling in an opening-round win over Pleasantville, Middle placed four players in double figures and shellacked Cinnaminson, 77-46, in a South Jersey Group II quarterfinal Wednesday night.

LaMarr Greer Jr. carried the Panthers (21-6) in the first half, posting 17 points and 12 rebounds through the first quarters. He finished with game highs of 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Micah Moore contributed 14 points and four blocked shots; Tommy Feraco mixed 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists; and Tom Catanoso scored 12 points for Middle.

Second-seeded Middle enjoyed an 18-8 advantage after the first quarter before turning the game into a rout by outscoring the seventh-seeded Pirates 38-19 over the second and third quarters.

The seventh-seeded Pirates finished their season at 14-14.

The Panthers will host third-seeded Medford Tech in a sectional semifinal game on Friday at 8 p.m. in the back end of a girl-boy doubleheader. The contest will air live on 98.7 FM radio, with a live Internet stream broadcast on capemaycountysports.com.
