The high school football regular season for New Jersey teams doesn’t begin until Sept. 13. But this weekend, four high school football games will be played in the area.

Maxwell Field in Wildwood and Carey Stadium in Ocean City will host two games apiece this Saturday, Aug. 31 involving teams from the Philadelphia area.

In Wildwood, Malvern Prep of the Inter-Ac League will take on Roman Catholic of the Philadelphia Catholic League at noon, followed by a game between Horace Furness of the Philadelphia Public League and Neumann-Goretti of the Catholic League at 4 p.m. Those games are repeats of the same matchups from last year.

Meanwhile, in Ocean City, four Catholic League teams will be featured as Archbishop Ryan takes on Cardinal O’Hara at 11 a.m., followed by Conwell-Egan against Lansdale Catholic at 3 p.m.

There will be separate admission charges for each of the two games at each site.
