High school junior varsity and varsity boys basketball games between visiting Millville and host Middle Township were postponed Thursday evening due to a bomb threat, Middle Township athletic director Scott Lodgek confirmed.

Lodgek said a threatening note was found inside in a lavatory in the high school a few minutes after the freshmen game between the two schools had concluded. The lavatory was not located near the gymnasium. Lodgek said the building was evacuated immediately after the note was found.

Police and fire authorities conducted an extensive search of the building and later deemed the school safe. Classes on Friday were held as normal, Lodgek said.

Lodgek said the junior varsity and varsity games have been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 at noon and 1:30 p.m., respectively.
