HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – Atlantic County Republicans Chairman Keith Davis announced Feb. 17 that Maureen Bugdon would be the party’s Republican of the year and will receive the Seashell Award that is given at the organization’s annual convention next month.
Bugdon is the vice chair of the Atlantic County Republican Committee and the municipal leader for the Hamilton Township Republican Organization. She has chaired the party’s annual Lincoln Dinner committee and volunteered on numerous campaigns. In addition to her political service, Bugdon is president of Atlantic City Race Course and a member of various authorities and commissions. She is a 10-year cancer survivor, a published writer and the mother of three children.
“Maureen Bugdon’s impact on our party cannot be overstated,” Atlantic County Republican Chairman Keith Davis said Feb. 17 in making the announcement. “On every tough race, Maureen has been there on behalf of our party, providing great organizational skills and enthusiasm that motivates others to get involved.
“In addition, she has represented our community proudly on several public boards and local charitable organizations. Maureen is very deserving of the Seashell Award, and we look forward to honoring her at our convention.”
Past recipients include Jerry Zappariello, Harry Brown, Sonya Harris, Joe Cafero, Bob Croce, JoAnne Amodeo and last year’s recipient, Terry Lucarelli.
The Atlantic County Republicans have scheduled their convention for Tuesday, March 13 at the Scullville Fire House,
The party will entertain nominations for U.S. Senate, Congress, and at-Large and District 2 and 5 freeholders.
