ABSECON - This Christmas season, there is only one concert where you are likely to hear Christmas music that runs the gamut from the Andrews Sisters to Trans Siberian Orchestra and from Andy Williams to television’s Glee.

That would be Suite Inspiration’s 18th annual Christmas concert, “An American Christmas,” at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.

The concert is free. Voluntary donations will be accepted to benefit the local free military child tutoring program.

“They Are Heroes Too” is a free military child tutoring program now in its fifth year.  Now located at Richard Stockton College, area teachers, Stockton students and other volunteers work voluntarily with military children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Due to military transfers, separation, and changes in curricula, military children may face educational needs unlike their civilian peers. The tutoring program gives youngsters representing all armed forces branches the opportunity for one-on-one instruction in remedial needs, helping them experience success and a smooth transition in their new schools.

On Sunday, the Suite will feature guest harpist Barbara Gallagher and a number of special friends - past and present.

“It’s remarkably easy to put together a wide-ranging All-American Christmas program,” Suite Producer Judy Transue said. “We’ve included selections that reflect our Colonial heritage, pop music from the American Caribbean and Hawaii, doo wop and hard rock styles, as well as traditional and contemporary Christian pieces - a little something for just about everyone.”

The event will include a sing-along session, a visit from Santa Claus and homemade refreshments after the concert.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church is located at 603 New Jersey Ave. For information, call Transue at (609) 748-1583.
