Those looking to gather with friends to enjoy the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby Saturday, May 3 have some local party options to choose from.

11 a.m.-10 p.m. at Dogtooth Bar and Grille, 100 E. Taylor Ave. in Wildwood. Race viewing 6:30 p.m. There will be $6 mint juleps, Mexican specials, a best hat contest and live music by Mike & Vince. Hat contest winner announced after the derby. Call 609-522-8383.

2 p.m. Kentucky Derby Chili Cook-off at the Elks Lodge, 1815 Somers Point-Mays Landing Road in Egg Harbor Township. Chili judging at 3 p.m.; derby viewing at 6:30 p.m. Chili dogs and unlimited chili bowls will be available for purchase. Call 609-600-7374.

4-7 p.m. at Harry’s Oyster Bar in Bally’s Atlantic City. Drink and appetizer specials; prize for most outrageous hat. Call 609-431-0092.

4-7 p.m. at the Deauville Inn, 201 Willard Road in Strathmere. 11 HDTVs for race viewing, food specials from noon to 10 p.m., hat contest with prizes. Call 609-263-2080.

4 p.m. at Elaine’s Victorian Inn, 513 Lafayette St. in Cape May. Derby viewing on HDTVs, live music on the porch, cash bar, prize for best hat. Tickets are $20; includes Southern foods and desserts including pecan pie. Call 609-884-4358.

5:30 p.m. at St. Philip Hall, St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Brigantine. Tickets are $20; includes roast beef or pulled-pork sandwiches. Derby viewing, silent auction, prize for best hat.

Simulcast racing and wagering is available at the Atlantic City Race Course, where doors open at 10 a.m. at 4501 Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing. The Kentucky Derby is the 11th race scheduled; post time is 6:24 p.m. Call 609-645-5202.
