The Cape May County Postal Food Drive is Saturday, Dec. 7 and benefits the local food banks.
Cape May County letter carriers will collect nonperishable food items to fill the local food bank. Leave any nonperishable foods by your mailbox and the mail carrier will pick it up.
Items needed are: canned meats, vegetables, fruit, tomatoes, pasta and soup; cereal, tuna, macaroni and cheese, pork and beans, ramen noodles, dry milk, juice, jelly, peanut butter, Jello or pudding mix, crackers and rice.
Microwavable items like macaroni and cheese, soup, rice and other non-refrigerated meals are also needed, as well as laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toilet paper and paper towels.
Donations can also be dropped off 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at participating post offices throughout the county, including Cape May Court House, Villas, Rio Grande, Wildwood, Stone Harbor, Avalon, Sea Isle City, Ocean View, Ocean City and Marmora.
Food donations may also be dropped off 1-3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Ocean City Food Cupboard, 501 E. Eighth St.
