CAPE MAY — The seventh annual Singer-Songwriter of Cape May Conference and Showcase is set March 28-29 at Congress Hall and other venues in Cape May.

More than 80 music industry professionals and 150 acts and artists will participate in the weekend conference, which features two afternoons of music business panels, workshops, mentoring and speakers for musicians, students and registered guests. At night the acts and artists showcase new music at 18 Cape May music venues.

All showcase performances are free and open to the public after 7 p.m.  

The venues are Aleathea's Restaurant at the Inn of Cape May, Cabanas Beach Bar, Carney's and Carney's Other Room, Corinthian Yacht Club of Cape May, Elaine's and Elaine's Dinner Theater, Jackson Mountain Café, Lucky Bones Backwater Grill, Marq's Pub at the Marquis de Lafayette, Merion Inn, The Mad Batter, Pilot House, Ugly Mug and the Brown Room, Boiler Room and the Grand Ballroom of Congress Hall.

Keynoter speakers and featured performers for 2014 include Melissa Ferrick on Friday,

March 28 and Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root on Saturday, March 29. Ferrick, based in Boston, has several albums and a career spanning 20 years. 

The speakers are at 5:15 p.m. for conference attendees and the public performances are after 8 in the Grand Ballroom of Congress Hall.
Advance tickets are $15 and all ages are permitted.
