Republicans like their ‘stuff’ too

To the editor:
Harry Hurley’s most recent column in The Current states the typical Republican propaganda that people who voted for President Obama did so for “stuff.” I voted for the president to protect our stuff from the Republican predators. I would like to clarify the term stuff as I understand it. Stuff is benefits bestowed on constituents by legislators. Tax benefits allowing wealthy taxpayers to hide money in a Cayman Island account qualify as “stuff.” The Bush tax cuts, hedge fund tax breaks and the capital gains tax rate are all stuff, which mostly doesn’t benefit President Obama’s constituents. They benefit the constituents of the other political party.
So I guess everybody likes stuff. Mr. Hurley should mention that in a future column.
