Ignored warning signs prove costly

To the editor:

One local media source is covering a double murder trial. The testimony by a female witness indicated that the male defendant previously warned her that he would harm anyone with whom she would be involved.

In the recorded testimony, find where the piece of the puzzle for prevention was ignored.  Ignored warning signs, whether on the national level or local level, are costly.  The cost of reporting negative, threatening behavioral patterns to the appropriate agencies or authorities is priceless.

For documentation purposes, for those who think a gun is the only weapon of choice, these murders were accomplished with a knife.
