Every October for the past 40 years, Pat Counsellor and her classmates from Our Lady of Lourdes, School of Nursing, come to Ocean City to spend time together. This year they took The Gazette with them. Christine Norton of Cape May Court House celebrates her last marching band performance as a senior as a member of the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band. The band performed the halftime show for UMass football at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. She’s joined by her sister Olivia Norton and mother, Ruth Norton. In 2008, Christine was featured in the Gazette as the Drum Major of the U.S. All American Marching Band.

Carol Shimer-Young and Jim Young (holding The Gazette) flew to the beautiful Pacific Coast town of Newport, Ore. to visit their friends, and former long time Ocean City residents, Sharon and Ralph Busby. The stop to visit the Busbys was the beginning of a 17-day trek that included Vancouver, Canada and the magnificent scenery of Alaska, including the famed Mt. McKinley, the tallest peak in North America. The Gazette, as it frequently does, went along for the ride.
