Yoga instruction at Wesley Methodist Church

PETERSBURG – The public is invited to take part in yoga sessions every Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. to relax and regroup, at Petersburg Wesley Methodist Church, 400 Route 610.

Luanne Fisher, a certified Kripalu yoga instructor, leads the class. Cost is $8 per session, pay as you go. The yoga is a gentle exercise, suitable for all abilities. Bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Make gingerbread houses

Pack 79 will continue their annual tradition of making gingerbread houses at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Any boys in kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to join in. Bring a canned good to participate.

Christmas cantata in Seaville

Seaville United Methodist Church will hold their Christmas cantata “Hark and Hallelujah” following a 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 21 at the church, 3100 Shore Road in Seaville. The church choir will tell the story of Jesus’ birth with an inspirational combination of traditional Christmas carols and contemporary rock ballads. Crew Boosters fundraiser

The Ocean City Crew Boosters will hold 50/50 Bingo Bonanza Nights on Jan. 3, 17, and 24 at the Upper Township Community Center, 1790 Route 50 in Tuckahoe. Proceeds will benefit Ocean City High School crew. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the Bingo Bonanza starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $2 and includes a four-card sheet for the first regular game. For $10, players can purchase a packet with one sheet for each of the 10 50/50 games. $1 will be charged per sheet for additional regular games. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Fundraiser planned for Boy Scout’s police memorial

SEA ISLE CITY – A fundraiser for Eagle Scout candidate Ben Jargowsky’s project to install a monument in honor of fallen police officers, especially Sea Isle City Ptl. Michael “Mickey” Cullinane, is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 3 at KIX-McNutley’s in Sea Isle City.

Prior to reaching the rank of Eagle Scout, candidates must complete a service project that displays leadership and benefits the community in one form or another.

Brunch with Santa Dec. 21

SEA ISLE CITY – members of VFW Post 1963 IN Sea Isle City will host their annual Brunch with Santa for local children 10 and under at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21 inside the VFW on JFK Boulevard adjacent to the bridge.

The event is free and will include a buffet brunch and music. Bring a camera and a Christmas wish list to share with Santa.

Holiday house tour to benefit VIM

SEA ISLE CITY – Volunteers in Medicine of Cape May County (VIM) is hosting a holiday house tour from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 in Sea Isle City.

VIM provides free health care for the uninsured and underserved “who are making an effort to help themselves and their families realize optimum health,” according to a press release. Its focus is on primary health care, emphasizing disease prevention, health promotion, and patient education.
