SEA ISLE CITY – More than 50 volunteers from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida gathered Saturday Nov. 10 to help “restore the shore” in Sea Isle City.

Volunteers arrived at 9 a.m. with shovels, rakes, and gardening gloves in hand to clear almost two feet of sand from the Promenade at John F. Kennedy Boulevard and debris from Excursion Park. By 2 p.m., the Promenade was almost cleared and back to how it looked before Hurricane Sandy.

"How nice it is to have so many people with connections to Sea Isle come together to help with the clean up efforts,” said Katie Barrett, whose family has had a beach house in Sea Isle City for 15 years.
