SEA ISLE CITY – Despite many residents suffering loss during Hurricane Sandy, a large number of people contributed in making the 20th annual Mayor’s Toy and Food Drive a success this year.
Four pickup trucks filled with goodies stopped at the homes of 22 families on Friday, Dec. 21, delivering food, toys and gift cards, according to a press release from the city.
The gifts brought a smile to the face of a child or a senior citizen. Mayor Leonard Desiderio said that a special thanks went out to the Sea Isle VFW, which provided turkey and stuffing to each of the families, and to Pattiann Ponichtera, Vickie Pittaluga, Marie Tighe and Patsy D’Intino for their expert wrapping and coordinating skills.
