TUCKAHOE – The Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Co. and Upper Township EMS responded to a chimney fire in Tuckahoe around 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28.

The house on Rt. 50 is located directly across the street from the Tuckahoe firehouse.

 

Tuckahoe Fire Chief Ed Carter said fire was spitting out of the top of the chimney and there was smoke in the house when firefighters arrived. The Marmora Volunteer Fire Co. was called for a ladder truck to provide safe access to the roof and the chimney, he said.

Marmora Fire Police also assisted with traffic around the scene, Carter said.

The fire was placed under control by 4:45 p.m. All units were clear of the scene by 5 p.m., Carter said.
