SEA ISLE CITY – Former Assemblyman Jack Gibson plans to run for City Council this year.
He’s planning to announce his candidacy at a press conference on Monday morning, March 4, in front of the former Sea Isle city Elementary School, which is now serving as the temporary City Hall.
Gibson, 79, is a lifelong Sea Isle City resident.
Gibson served six terms as a Republican member of the state Assembly, serving 12 years over a 14 year period. He lost his last assembly race to Nelson Albano in 2005.
Sea Isle City had a three member commission form of government up until 2007, when by referendum it was changed. There is now a mayor and a five member City Council.
