PALERMO – Homes in the Palermo section of Upper Township lost power Monday afternoon after a cement mixer being towed down Stagecoach Road collided with a utility pole.

A witness said the truck either hit the utility pole near Rivendell Road or became tangled in some of the wires overhead around 3 p.m. The utility pole fell to the ground and electrical wires were on the ground shortly after the accident.

Neighbors in the area reported losing power.

The Marmora Volunteer Fire Co. and New Jersey State Police responded to the scene. Stagecoach Road was blocked off between Rivendell Road and Ocean Avenue.

There were no injuries reported at the scene. An Atlantic City Electric truck was on the scene.
