Death in Sea Isle City ruled a suicide

SEA ISLE CITY – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor and Sea Isle City Police Chief Thomas D’Intino said in a statement Wednesday that the death of a 46-year-old man on Monday, Feb. 17 has been ruled a suicide.

Sea Isle City police responded to a condominium unit on the 300 block of 43rd Place on Monday for a report of an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, police discovered a man on a bed in the bedroom. There was a single gunshot wound to the right side of his head, police said.


A handgun was located in close proximity to the body, according to police. A subsequent investigation conducted by the Sea Isle City Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office found nothing suspicious.

Police have not identified the man.

An external examination was conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 18 by the Southern Regional Medical Examiners Office and the cause of death has been certified as a suicide.
