A winter storm watch for up to six inches of snow has been issued for evening hours of Thursday, Jan. 17 by The National Weather Service Forecast Center in Mt. Holly.
The warning area is for South Jersey residents living in Cape May, Atlantic, and Ocean counties. There is the potential for 2-6 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
A low pressure system that was expected to pass well off to the south of New Jersey will take a more northerly pass instead, according to the National Weather Service.
As a result, rain will begin falling tomorrow afternoon and change over to snow as the storm passes.
The National Weather Service expects hazardous driving conditions.
