The National Weather Service Mount Holly Forecast Center has issued a flood advisory at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2 for western Atlantic County in response to a slow-moving area of strong thunderstorms.

Those thunderstorms where creeping northeastward over the from Vineland toward Hammonton and are capable of dropping 1-2 inches of rain per hour.

The flooding advisory was issued because street flooding and small stream flooding could occur.

Though the heaviest rain was center to the west of Mays Landing, rain was falling across portions of the Black Horse Pike, Route 50 and up through Absecon and Galloway at 9:22 a.m., Monday, Sept. 2.
