Areas of patchy dense fog will make some South Jersey commuters may want to get an early start on their trip to work this morning, Thursday, Dec. 5.

The National Weather Service Mount Holly Forecast Center has issued weather advisory for patch dense fog throughout Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Burlington and Ocean counties.

Sinking overnight temperatures combined with a soupy air mass to create areas of fog that contain areas with less than a half of a mile of visibility.

“There will be some slow going,” the Weather Service said.

The fog is expected to begin to lift at 8 a.m., the Weather Service said.
