The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Delaware, New Jersey, and eastern Pennsylvania in advance of what’s expected to become record-breaking cold weather on Saturday, Jan. 4.

The hazardous weather outlook warns of very cold temperatures, icy roads and hazardous overnight travel conditions, according to the National Weather Service Mount Holly Forecast Center.

Low temperatures across the region are expected to range from a few degrees above zero near the Atlantic Ocean to well below zero in central Pennsylvania.

Wind chill readings will be much colder, the National Weather Service said.
