ATLANTIC CITY - The Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management has declared a code blue warning from 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6 through 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Dangerous wind chills through the period can rapidly cause hypothermia which may be fatal to those without shelter, the Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management said in a release issued at 11 am. Monday, Jan. 4.

Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian advises that during this dangerously frigid weather, keep pets inside and check on senior citizens who can become chilled rapidly without realizing it.

All interests are urged to keep updated on this weather via local radio, TV, and newspapers.

The Atlantic City Rescue Mission will receive Atlantic City homeless persons without shelter and both provide warm meals and sleeping accommodations.

The ACPD, when possible, will provide a ride to the shelter if so requested.
