The National Weather Service Mount Holly Forecast Center has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Atlantic County calling for frequent lightning and thunder, damaging winds and heavy rain.

At 2:04 p.m., a line of severe thunderstorms were moving northeast from Millville at 65 mph. These storms are capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts.

The storms will reach Mizpah at 2:15 p.m., Weymouth at 2:20 p.m., Elwood-magnolia (2:30 p.m. and Batsto at 2:30 p.m.

"Very heavy rain will occur with the line of severe thunderstorms,” the Weather Service said. Low-lying areas could flood.
