ATLANTIC CITY – The Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management has extended its Cold Blue warning through 8 a.m. Saturday, March 1 due to dangerous temperatures and potentially deadly wind-chill values.

Tumbling temperatures and wind gusts will bring dangerously low wind-chill values that can cause rapid hypothermia and can endanger any individuals without shelter, the Office of Emergency Management said in a release issued at noon Friday, Feb. 28.

The Atlantic City Rescue Mission will provide accommodations and hot meals for all those who wish to take advantage of their facility.

If available, Atlantic City Police Department mobile units will provide transport to the Mission.

Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian advises that during this dangerously frigid weather, residents should keep pets inside and check on senior citizens who can become chilled rapidly without realizing it.
